This a fellow patient of hip resurfacing here in the Chicago area. Tom had the same surgeon as me: Dr. Scott Rubinstein. They both play hockey, and this video features a game where they play together - a promise that was made prior to Tom's surgery. Tom's recovery is astounding at 7 months. It's an inspiration to be associated with a surgeon who genuinely cares for his patients, and is willing to extend his professional life into the lives of his patients. Tom is a genuine person, and deserves the success he has had with this surgery. Kudos for a successful return to the NWFLYERS, and to the ice. Be inspired - and enjoy!
Great! good for you! congrats, but how much does it cost, if insurance dont cover?

Had mine 2 weeks ago 3 months before my 40th. Unfortunately, because the damage was so bad before, I can't properly weight bear for another 6 weeks. Itching to get back into the gym. I figure thai boxing will have to go (still, I was never that good) but boxing should be ok.

Tom, Had this surgery 2.14.08. Own a gym and train a lot of athletes. On the comeback trail this is very much what I needed to see.
thanx!

Tom, that is fantastic...great to see what hip resurfacing can get you back to doing..The Doc looks like one cool dude who would put Gordie Howe to shame on the ice!
Hope that hip gives you 20+ years of service.
