This great literary figure will be studied, critiqued and discussed within uni literature classrooms for many yrs to come. He left his mark on this planet and we can easily say that mark made this planet a better one. He will be quoted, copied and read by millions, referred to by millions when reasoning(which is very difficult) with theists, and above all, revered for his courage to speak truth, even when it came across as ridicule. Religion's vacation from ridicule is simply over.

Exactly, RIP and "our thoughts are with you" are totally inappropriate. Hitch is gone in body and mind and that's it. He is no more. However, he lives on in our minds and his legacy will last for ever.
