Sample Q&A from the May 2010 Issue of Eckhart Tolle TV Q: Is the ego the source of our thoughts or are our thoughts generated elsewhere and passed through the ego? The ego arises out of the state of identification with thought. The moment of freedom arises when we realize that we are not our thoughts—rather, we are the awareness.

  • this man is incredible.

  • I am very Grateful Mr. Tolle stepped up and has shared with others these words and experiences the same as any musician would do with their music or as Gandhi did or Buddha did in their own way. These things passed on from others has made a radical positive difference in my life and many others around me. I want to exercise the same courage and humility to be able to pass on my messages/music to others as well & not have to feel perfect to do so. To make at least some small positive difference.

  • @eric793 yes, it is a thought to get out of thought . But a fundamental thought that all is thought will help create the space he is mentioning. At least it seems so. Good point.

  • @IDM011 Your still in thought. To be out of thought is to have no concern for what the thought is. Thoughts are good or bad when one is in their thoughts.

  • Prime uses...

  • Honestly i think eckhart tolles teachings are for people battling with like schizophrenia or neurosis because a functioning brain does not need presence to feel good or to simply think and pray to connect with the source..the ego he is talking about could be something made up..last time I checked the source of thought was the brain...the brain is for thinking, that is one of it's

  • So is all thought bad? I am thinking to type this up is that ego? Is thinking about how much I love my family ego? But I thought ego and love couldnt coexist?? Seriously I need to know this

  • Use all these teachers as pointers of the way, not the way itself :D

  • @ChrisZ70 The foremost argument I hear on Tolle's behalf is that he articulates the wisdom of the ages so much better than most. I don't see it.

  • @shadowheart52 He makes heavy use of "A Course In Miracles" principles without acknowledging. I've often wondering and marveled at the popularity of Tolle, given that there's very little, if any, original material from him. I think it's his presentation: He basically presents in a way that people find very agreeable, I guess.

  • @shadowheart52 what this guy is saying is so incredibly true and he's explaining it in a way that is easy to understand respect this man
