u can run an 8 pin with a 4 pin :L but your hardware can get damaged because of less power going into the motherboard lol

hi i too have the same problem, stuck with a 4 pin power suply unit, and my motherboard is 8pin,,,can you show me ??? form where did you take the other 2 yellow wires and 2 black wires, from molex connector?? maybe i am wrong but arent the molex connectors 5v?? ohh i am so comfused...

jesus christ... instead of potentially shorting out your motherboard just plug the 4 pin into the 8 pin socket 9 times outta 10 this will work... if not just by a 4 pin to 8 pin adapter they are cheap and a lot safer than hotiwring a rigged up 4 pin directly into a molex. think on

I did the same thing but i just spliced into the other 4 that were already plugged into it. Been running 6 years no problems.

Hi!
My motherboard (GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R X58 S-1366 ATX) and my PSU
(CORSAIR TX 750W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V) will they work togheter?
I know there is an 8-pin motherboard connector on it... but it says 1x ATX12V 2.2 / 1x EPS12V, like if they were in two peaces?
Does this mean I only have to plug in one of them (which one) or do I need them both?
Thanks in advance.

@mathias921 hey i think only 1 will plug in, if you try they have little groves. The motherboards these days are made idiot proof, if you can plug it in, it will probably work.
