Buffalo Daughter "Cold Summer" 45 rpm single -- I found this in a thrift store amongst a box of singles donated by a radio station - lots of unknown bands. They are from Japan, and have an interesting electro-pop sound.

  • Cool. Wish our thrift store got stuff like thsi!

  • @RickenbackerBeatles There is a new Salvation Army in my neighborhood and in the last 2 weeks I found good LP copies of albums by Renaissance, Jean-Michel Jarre, Harry Nilsson, Leon Russell, and David Gilmour -- a dollar each.

  • This was a total hit when it came out. Buffalo Daughter were in Creem, SPIN, Details, and Alternative Press (Before it was a new metal magazine). Their album had tons of fans. The whole thing is good. Their album was on the Beastie Boys' label, it was a big deal. They might be forgotten, but were pretty universally enjoyed. (Just trying to put this in context for ya!)

  • @gibbonsarms

    you got ripped off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a waste! And imagine the poor people in the world. geeez! Over some record from a band that formed in 1993.

  • That's not too BS

  • I just checked with a currency conversion calculator -- 30K yen is $337. I admit, I paid maybe a dollar at most for this record. Thrift stores luckily do not check Goldmine magazine or eBay for what records might be worth.

  • Off of the album "Captain Vapour Athletes". They are pretty well-known, judging by the amount of their music on Amazon MP3.
