The sensors on the dirt dog cannot reflect on dark surfaces, it's seeing it as a cliff\stairs.

lolz aside, the black tiles on the floor are screwing with the cliff sensors. It reads the dark spots as holes, so it attempts to avoid them. The white tiles, being brighter, still register as actual floor. If this is the only room your Dirt Dog has to clean, tape some white card stock to the sensors (they're usually under the front bumper). It should run just fine. And there's a big difference between the Roomba and the Dirt Dog. Roomba cannot pick up what Dirt Dog can.

Put some masking tape over the sensors? It should "see" floor all the time. (and subsequently won't be able to detect stairs anymore)
