  • I am thinking about buying this helicopter. It's between this and the honey bee king II, which is supposed to be good for beginners. I want one that I can progress with without needing to buy a new one though. Is the Dragonfly 52 a good buy if I want a 3d heli which can do inverted flight and stuff? And still be flyable at a beginner level.

  • Honestly, no helicopter can be good for beginners and do 3D. Beginners need stability, acrobatics require agaility. You can't get both from any heli. If anyone claims otherwise, they either don't know or are trying to sell something.

If you're just starting, I'd recommend the Dragonfly 4#1. It's by far the best beginner heli around. Others are too easy or too hard (and too fragile). It will pay for itself in spares saved over any CP heli.

  • Did you have to modify it from 2D to 3D to get it to fly inverted? Or is that non modified 3D flying?

  • The CP (flat) blades must be fitted for 3D flight.

It's the stock heli with the included CP blades and extra servo fitted (all included).

  • Ah. How good is the FMS simulator for preparing you? It came bundled with an e-sky USB controller. If I practice 3d like crazy in that, with different models, will the spare part tab be smaller when I switch to a real one? The Honeybee king II has a switch that changes it between behaving like a 4ch and a full 3d according to a local web store.
