  • Wonderful song - first heard this on the radio in 1973 but was never able to get a disc of it ( I think it was originally a 'B' side) and it can't be found on itunes or Amazon.

    Thank you for posting.

  • Hi, @bobbyp1957

I also thought that I was B side at first. However, it was written to the label as Side1.

  • 38 years and look what I found! love the man, love the song, had almost given up

  • bought this when it first came out amazing song .

  • Like foresmith I heard this in 1973 (here in the UK) and searched for it ever since in vain. It never seems to be on any album or compilation whereas Old Fashioned Love Song is everywhere ! Wonderful to find at last, was beginning to think I had imagined it - thank you !

  • Fantastic Song - along with Jimmy Webb , they are the greatest songwriters ever

  • Great tune. The best song the Carpenters never recorded! Is this beauty on CD anywhere?

  • I always though this might be a good song for the Carpenters to record.

  • Thank you more than I can say! I first heard this in 1973 when I was packing up my parents' home. I have tried to find this for 38 years, even wrote to Paul himself, who told me no one else ever recorded. Listening to it now, I realize that for 38 years I have had a perfect memory of this song. What other song can you say that about?

  • @kb7bth he also produced "an old fashioned love song" and "life goes on." I have my beliefs its a coincidence, if only for lack of evidence concurring it. Though none against it, so you never know

  • Excellent PW song. The first time I heard it was in 2010 but have been a fan of his since 1972

  • A very rare, very good PW song
