Interview Drew Westen

The PES was honoured to welcome the author of 'the Political Brain' to Brussels last week. Prof. Westen spent a very productive day with the PES , and our co-hosts, SP.A. His work showed just how powerful the right words, or indeed the wrong ones, can be. Our job, as progressive Europeans, is to overcome this negative bombardment by showing people how European solidarity is in all our interests.

One big problem with the left is that they do not work together. Everyone wants everyone else, or the government to fix their problem, but they are unwilling to do things for others and are likely to turn conservative when they get their needs met.

Good points, clear and direct passionate. Robert Reich has done this better than anyone else I have read.

Westen's "The Political Brain" was excellent.

Not only do Progressives not do well telling stories, as mentioned in the book they very often do not stand up for themselves when they are attacked.

We had it all correct with FDR, and now the big money pulls all the strings, and the left will not say anything about this. The stress of what is going on now in the West is going to cause a lot of problems with people for many years if not decades.
