  • People throw away what they could have by insisting on perfection, which they cannot have, and looking for it where they will never find it.

I just can't shake off the feeling that You are mocking the Pope when you say ''his Holiness or whatever you want to call it, Popeiness'' . Doesn't your school of Buddhism also have a ''Holiness'' in the personality of the Dalai Lama- who is on very good therms with the Pope?

  • bhuddha will runaway hearing this.

  • "Don't believe what I say"

I myself wont always believe what he says. I take in what he says then if I agree with it then I agree with it, if not then I don't.

The person I believe above all else, the one that I look to for guidance the most is myself. I like listening to him so that I can have help to listen to myself.

  • does buddhism believe in ghosts??? like possession??

  • @MrWrongevolution With the knowledge that another living being was killed for the purpose of eating, one should not eat this, but if by dire need and in certain places on earth, meat is necessary to live, therefore can be eaten. Only by dire need should a Buddhist monk eat meat. Would you eat the flesh of another human being? I think not. The same goes for animals. Why kill animals out of greed? Whatever possible, do not kill.

  • Ajahn Brahm should be on TED!

  • I believe we all suffer from stupidity, ignorance, and delusion. Even the greatest teachers do too. I saw the documentary My Reincarnation, about a Buddhist Rinpoche's son, who is suppose to be a Rinpoche too, but his father lets him decide what he wants to be. For over twenty years this young man grows into an adult and does the things he wants, and eventually he finds his spiritual calling and becomes a teacher. It just shows how much people's lives are similar. myreincarnationfilm. com
