A seaside icon of the 50s and 60s was the Guinness Timepiece, a moving display of the animals and characters used in advertising for Guinness. The display lasted about 5 minutes and took place every 30 minutes or so. This short film of it in action was shot by my late father, John Westerby, when were on a family holiday at Morecambe in 1962.
