Isn't it great when the director knows the piece he's directing? The doctor sings 'E spenta!' which means she's gone and everybody else declares their pain only to prompt Violetta to actually die thereafter (hence the falling down of the left arm). Just great when people really pay attention to the text and the music!

j'ai vu la traviata avec Anna netrebko, i like her power of her voice,! beautiful, but i have to agree that Renée Fleming it's very expressive! she a real violetta in her last hours-.! je l'aime!! , si que j'ai achté le dvd de cet opera! ;D

I was sceptical re: Renee doing Violetta...
But she's won me over. Most expressive Violetta of the last 20 years. Certainly better than Netrebko and Gheorghiu!

I have to agree there. Fleming was better in her prime but still sings well and I'd take her any day over Gheorghiu and especially Netrebko, who would probably not be famous at all without her looks.
