Dry Tortugas National Park is a remote park about 70 miles west of Key West, Florida. It encompasses a cluster of seven islands including historic Fort Jefferson and surrounding coral reefs. This ten minute video introduces visitors to fundamental trip planning to get to and enjoy this amazing place.
I had the privilege of being stationed at Fort Jeff as a Park Ranger back in the early 1980's. It was a fantastic experience and really has not changed much in 32 years. My primary job was law enforcement however, with so few park employees on the island we mostly worked as a team. When something needed fixed we all pitched in and helped each other. At that time their were no luxuries such as cell phones, email, internet service or even TV since we were so far from Key West. Thanks, TH
