  • Uhm he did use ebonics.... "dyin" he didn't announciate the "g" and ebonics are cutting off letters of words or mixing in a different flare of vernacular. Drake ain't fake, it's just different audiences call for different things. Drake is well spoken, if he hosted another awards show, I'm surd he'd go in and out but mainly stay in the "proper" talk. Prolly cuz he'll be reading off a teleprompter.. cmon now people. Stop attacking dis man. And he sounded OK wit da singing. Respect.

  • Drake beast.

  • LOVELY VOICE as always

  • i didnt kno that drake ccould actually sing

  • @ag2407 Look, I have an English degree, but sometimes I use slang. I don't think I'm being fake, I think I'm wearing different hats to fit different situations. I'm also Jamaican, but when I go to an interview, I speak English. But who cares. Drake ain't paying my bills, so I don't give a fuck what he does. I was mainly just sticking up for myself because I'm not fake and I do the same thing.

  • @mskaylovespink What does it matter what the other rappers have a hand in? Is he making music for them or the fans? If that's your way of justifying why he's fake, then it's not a good excuse. Just be yourself, that's why we liked him to begin with right?

  • @ag2407 I don't know what Ebonics is because it was discredited by accredited universities, and shunned by educated Black people as a way of perpetuating negative stereotypes. But he does use a lot more slang when talking to rappers and other Blacks, especially Americans. Yes, I see your point. But don't you think that other rappers have a hand in that? I mean, if he thinks that they will reject him for not sounding like them, maybe it comes from experience.

  • @mskaylovespink You have no idea what you're talking about, the thing that annoys the hell out of me and i'm sure everyone else is that Drake is fake as fuck! excuse my language but there is nooo way he would speak like this if he hosted the VMA's or BET awards, nope not in front of his rap peers, he would speak in ebonics and try to sound tough. Just look at his online interviews with rap magazines, the proof is all there. if this is the real drake the stick with it, don't be two faced.

  • @sarahcsings1 Right you are... I'm sick of all people thinking that only a certain group owns proper English. His mother was a teacher... His family seems very educated and middle class. There is no reason for him to sound like a gang banger from Compton when that's not who he is. People should stop generalizing everyone. The man is Canadian, we should stop measuring him with a generalized American stick.

  • What is sounding white and sounding black? Just because a black person speaks good standard English doesn't mean they are trying to sound white...Its racists to think all blacks should sound ghetto or uneducated in fact broken English and slang used by many blacks is from the south and came from slavery it was influenced by the dialect of white slave owners. Drake changes his voice for rapping because thats the way hip hop is supposed to sound....
