WATCH THIS VIDEO:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Zv_hJmMocY8
Conclusion:
Firstly, the video deceived us from the start by meshing about 20 images of Roman Catholics and 19 of Eastern Orthodox members, as if Catholics can be held accountable for the actions of the Orthodox members and vice versa.
Secondly, it is absolutely obvious and undeniable that the Catholic Church teaches against idolatry and polytheism, according to her creed, catechism, and actions against heretics.
Thirdly, a person who worships a false god, or possess an idol, is guilty of grave sin and cannot be rightly deemed a Christian, much less a Catholic.
Fourthly, bowing and kneeling are not necessarily always gestures of worship, but can also express respect and honor as we saw in many examples offered from our world, and the Bible.
Fifthly, it is only right and fair that objectors allow Catholics to explain the meaning of their very gestures, lest we allow such gestures to be misinterpreted, as they have been, and condemned as worship, as they have been.
Sixthly, every true Catholic will explain that the statues and images in question do not represent an ends to themselves, and thus, cannot be deemed idols.
Seventhly, every true Catholic will explain that the gestures of bowing and kneeling in the presence of a statue represent honor and respect, and not worship, of the person who the statue or image depicts.
Eighthly, expressions of respect and honor to those who deserve it are clearly justified by means the Sacred Scripture.
Ninthly, "The Vicar of Hell" video is thus representative of only misconception and deceit, which can in turn only garner contempt and resentment towards Catholics, which can in turn can only destroy the possibility of dialog and unity between Catholics and non-Catholics.

in all to those who believe no explanation is necessary, and for those who don't, none will ever suffice... simply pray for the pro-testants and let heaven sort them out ... the Universal (Catholic) Faith in Christ is the true Faith, true Church

@freright123 Um...bowing is not always worship as seen in Genesis 19:1, Genesis 42:6, and 1 Samuel 28:14. Bowing is only worship if you mean it to be worship. You have no Scripture on which to condemn the use of statues and images; you are falsely shifting the burden of proof on me.
As for the questions on Mary, the saints, and the Rosary, I have made videos on all of those. I recommend you watch those videos for all your questions there.

@SeptemberCatholic18 u compared your act of bowing to an idol as that of bowing to an audience, these have 2 totally diff meanings. being that you are on the religious arena, not a theatre arena, there are many scriptures that refer bowing as an act of worship. That can not be your excuse for making images of saints"You don't always need the Bible to say what is okay"
also I've always wanted to know where in scripture it says that mary and saints intercede on our behalf, an use of rosary beads

@carolynromero1 no where in the bible does it say you have to take that every sunday.
no where. sorry.

@freright123 I'm not sure what you're saying, and I don't think you fully understand. A statue is not honored. We honor the saints, as Romans 13:7 says, and obviously people are more honorable than animals (Luke 12:6-7; Matt 12:12).
I think the real point is that the Bible never forbids statues of saints. It only forbids statues that are worshipped. You don't always need the Bible to say what is okay. The Bible never says you can use a computer. As long as the Bible does not forbid it.

@SeptemberCatholic18 no. your wrong. Your point of having a statue in the first place is to express your honor to what theyve done. give honor where honor is due. that is your point correct? 5:46-55 of video. "Statues are not honored," so yes my argument of how animals can be as honorable as a saint is a relevant argument. Because those scriptures do not condone the sculpting of saints to give honor to them. that was a man-made idea. because no where in the bible it says to sculpt saints.

@freright123 I gave you Scripture that shoes God isn't against statues and images as long as they aren't worshiped. That's all we need. Statues are not honored, so you're wrong that animals aren't as honored as statues. Look, Romans 13:7 says to honor all those who deserve honor; I'm doing my task from God.

@SeptemberCatholic18 No, I did read in context. Just grasp the understanding please brother. Humans are indeed creatures, but even the lions and palm trees arent honored as the statues of the saints are. you still didnt give me scripture pertaining to whether statues of saints are biblical or not. What did the palm tree do to deserve recognition for?
freright123 1 year ago
@freright123 Humans are creatures. The fact is, God commanded statues and images of creatures to be made. God is NOT against statues and images, he is against people worshiping them like the Israelites did to the golden calf in the desert. You need to read Exodus in context.
