Abandoned crab traps, or "ghost traps", are a navigational hazard for many Florida boaters. Since 2004, volunteer groups have cleaned up over 1500 abandoned crap traps from Florida's waterways. This video shows how Florida Sea Grant and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has helped coordinate volunteers, crab fishers, and professionals to remove ghost traps and collect valuable data. • Keep our waterwaws clean?

P.S. The owner of every number/taged trap that is recorded is then fined $5 per trap found.
