1992 Ludwigsburger Festspiele

Stage direction: Axel Manthey

Mozart's The Magic Flute was the first great German opera and is still one of the most performed operas today. Aside from its intrinsic beauty, Mozart's music in this opera stood out among other operas because of its successful integration of a variety of musical styles including German lieder, Italian aria, and Viennese folk music into a cohesive whole.

This particular piece is really just adorable.

Patricia Rozario and Thomas Mohr perform.

  • Music is important, not costumes :))) really nice :)

  • I would agree if this wasn't opera. Costumes and set design are important in opera and subject themselves to criticism as much as the music.
