So true, newwave. And I agree with jms (above). I met Pat in '89 and quite the nice guy! So cool. I'll be a fan for life. smithereens rock!!!!!!!!!

Pat said that this song was a tribute to his childhood home, lost due to the ever present war on the middle class in America.
The video for the album version is very sad too, as Pat goes thru an old house and sees the shadows of his memories as he walks from room to room.
We all had that special place when we were kids, and this song will be sure to remind us each and every time we hear it.

If I could, I would have the boys play at my house every weekend, just so I would have a reason to keep on living! Can't wait for Sellersville!

They are better than they ever were. Go see the Smithereens if you can. They will leave a smile on your face !
I fully agree with wikinsgy! Imagine great, catchy pop-rock songs played with a heaviness most metal bands would drool over! That's the Smithereens.
Pat's fat as a house after all these years, but they still rock like kids!

Alright, let's be polite and respectful, now. Sometimes people appear the way they are for reasons that are not public knowledge, nor anyone's business, really. Let's honor Pat for the terrific songwriter and backbone of the band he is.
