Chorus:
Di Tanjong Katong, airnya biru
Di situ tempatnya dara jelita
Duduk sekampung, lagikan rindu
Kononlah pula nun jauh di mata

Pulau Pandan jauh ke tengah
Gunung Daik bercabang tiga
Hancur badan di kandung tanah
Budi yang baik di kenang jua

( Repeat Chorus )

Kalau ada jarum patah
Jangan simpan di dalam peti
Kalau ada silap sepatah
Jangan disimpan di dalam hati

( Repeat Chorus )

  • yeah it's about a place in Singapore, Tanjong Katong ( Katong CAPE)..it's a MALAY folk song, so it's shared through out the Malay world, be it if u r in Singapura, Malaysia, Indonesia or Brunei, in fact as far as Southern Thailand.. I bet 3/4 of the Singaporeans can't understand what the lyric meant. I dont think Singapore ever used this song to represent the country.

  • singapore hahaha malaysia thanks for making this song for us and giving us water we love malaysia, and who is that siti norhaliza is it very good singer !!!!!!

  • @anapstar i dont think its right to use the words wasted...

  • anapstar> hello? "wasted" on only one country? mind you language pls.. at least change the word...

  • dumb song really. lol. i play it on the guitar. its more fun without those small kids singing. lovely song on the guitar tho. and the piano.

  • The composer is Ahmad Patek.

  • ilovejackman, this is not cultural-confusion, this is just part of Rojak culture of Singapore/Malaysia. I am partially of Chinese Peranakan descent. My ancestors from China adapted to the local culture. You, being Singaporean (I'm assuming you are) should understand this cross-culture situation. Being from this part of the world, we must accept that we are a mixed society, embrace it and live it.

  • chi gurls. mly song. culture-confused clothes. okayy.......

  • I actually agree with you anapstar. Same goes for songs like Rasa Sayang and Chan Mali Chan. =)
