Met him at Newport Arms about 15 years ago....absolute top bloke....Teach Me How To Fly was the first record i bought with my own pocket money when i was about 5.

What a shame he had a disability although he showed a ton of guts to carry on and perform. In my opinion he could have been a world beater...listn to "Watch Out" and "If I Had A Ticket" two name just two great renditions.

I remember seeing him live every weekend in Sydney (yeah, I'm an oldie).
Can't recall the name of the venue. May have been "The Place"but it was up an alley with a huge curtain as the door.
It was JSJ & the Id. I recall he got mugged around that time while in a wheelchair!

His version here is much better than his '67 recording, ~much looser & more inside the music. It's really good.

@unclegaz Mate, he was in my brothers Gearbox shop today getting work done on his car! I said to my bro you should have called me, i would have shot down there just to meet him! Love the bloke! ( in Perth).
