i recommend learning a piece called Infurioso and Valse by Earl Hatch. The piece is real tough to get down but it is worth learning even if your not digging mallets. Another piece i would say to learn is Mitchel Peters Sea Refractions the draw back of it though is that the worlds mallet players have done since the dawn of time it is really old but it is better then Playing Yellow after the rain i like both pieces either way. If all else fails get the Thomas Mcmillan Marimba solos book. good luck

do you happen to know a good piece for me to play as my audition into university? I am not even normally a mallet player but it is a req. to get in for percussion.. And well, This was on the list as one of the audition pieces.
I personally find it ridiculous that they want me to learn things like this, and Valse Brilliante...
I was thinking of playing Caprice Valsant.. but I really need recommendations. If i could get some of greens music it would help.
