Great stuff. It is such a refreshing change to hear the detail of registration possibilities.
Of course the Grand Jeu is also majestic...

The lovely Clicquot stops......

Bof, ça vaut pas tripette !
La prise de son n'aide pas !
-
And many romantic organs has been destroyed to become neo-baroque organs!
-
Listening once more, I can only think how lucky Daniel is: how many organists can play Marchand and Dupre authentically on the same instrument?? Must be a wonderful feeling!
-
Like you said, a chance that Cavaillé-Coll has kept the base of Clicquot's stops. Most of French classical organs had been destroyed to become romantic or symphonic.
We have here a rare example.

Skyler - Youtube played a practical joke on me - I gave you a '+', not a minus, and I can't change it! Believe me - I'm 150% in favour of your comment...

Wonderful stuff...

This is not Offertoire, but 'Basse de Trompette' from 1er Livre by Marchand.
Love the sound of the Clicquot era French organs - - so glad that Cavaille-Coll was such a fan of Clicquot that he retained these in the rebuild of both St. Sulpice and Notre Dame's organs.
