@bigevil50 I bet it wasn't. Don't apply today's mindset to 70 years ago. People in that time didn't need the near constant stimulation we seem to need today. Life moved at a much slower pace.

Sammy Baugh was the greatest player in at least the first 30-40 yrs of the NFL

@ShinobiMusashi1 According to Wikipedia Sammy Baugh led the NFL in rushing in 1937 with 874 yards rushing. He also led the NFL in passing

Back when professional football was pure. Back when the players were genuine and had passion for what they did. Back before everything was over-commercialized and the game of football was destroyed. This was back when football was really football, and there were no men-in-suits to tarnish the game we love.

Thanks for uploading this beutifull football footage. The 37 Title game was one of the best games in the history of the league up to that point. A thrilling back and forth battle with several lead changes and high action. Beattie Feathers was unstoppable in the 37 season for the Skins as he led the league in rushing by a wide margin. The Bears shut Feathers down in the first quarter so the Skins started putting the ball in the air. I've read a lot about the game, but this is the first Ive seen.

Seems like Sammy Baugh played forever.

Sammy Baugh was way ahead of His time!

Love the frozen field and horse-collar tackles. Looks like a fake punt by the 'Skins at 1:00 that results in a 40+ yard gain. Think anyone would try that these days in a title game scenario?

lol i bet this was boring as fuck to watch
Just barely ... Slingin' Sammy" Baugh died in December '08 at 94 years old. Not bad for a football player.
