@NightShadow54 $700 where did you pay that there is a website where you put the model of phone that you want unlock and they onlu charge you $20 to give you the code, you insert the code and thats it, you can do it by yourselft

I have a legally unlocked one with me now. I'm going to buy another one tomorrow and have it legally unlocked as well so I can sell it...any takers? (in Australia bt will ship overseas)
That aside, does anyone know what will happen if I update my firmware to 2.0.2? It should work fine except for the fact that its been jailbroken and I don't really want to wait for it to restore itself if jailbreaking an unlocked iphone 3g screws its ability to update without pwning...

It is impssible to get it unlocked in US as AT&T doesn't provide the unlocking service. You can only call the carrier to unlock the phone if the phone is Australian model and purchased in Australia. thanks

it's legally unlocked by the local phone company. You can't get the iphone legally unlocked in US. Because the iphone 3g is too cheap in US. that's why it's unlocked.
