A Balloon For Our Shooting Star

Esther was an amazing friend of mine, whom always seemed happier than everyone else, while others would be annoyed by things that seemed so irrelevant next to what she was living with. When I say she is the bravest person and the kindest I've met, I am not exaggerating. She never liked to be viewed as larger than life, but as much as she denied it, she wasn't your average teenage girl and she was most definitely beyond her years in intelligence, comprehension of life, and compassion for others. You will be missed, Esther, rest in awesome.

The summer I met you,
Was one of the best I ever had.
You were a bright star of understanding
And your beauty blew my mind.
You had the most peculiar way of viewing life,
And I love you for it.
I'm so glad we became friends
And now I can't imagine that summer without you.
You inspired everyone you met
And now, in your absence, you create beauty through others.
I am thankful that the amazing person I met a year ago
Will be remembered forever.
Balloons of love now rise from everyone you've touched,
From the thousands whose hearts you've warmed.
It saddens me to let it go,
But I hope the clouds part as it reaches you.
Your time with us was a gift borrowed from above
Thankful for you, we let you return.
You were truly remarkable, Esther,
As a person and a friend.

Kwait, I hate to be a downer... but as nerdfighters, aren't we supposed to be concerned about the environment? Why has no one brought up how terribly polluting this tribute is? I respect all that Esther means to Nerdfighteria, but seriously, would she have wanted us to cause dolphins and turtles digestive problems in her memory?
