TLS was a motely crew of Liverpool poets, who put out some John Peel-friendly LP's that failed to excite the record-buying masses

  • Here's a strange thing. Just the other day in London I saw a young black guy wearing a T-shirt emblazened with the words 'Bobby and the Helmets' . I've just done a google search and it turns out that it's a copy of the shirt Robert Plant wore in 1972 . Does this show that he could take a joke back in those days. By the way, it was 40 years ago this month that Liverpool Scene appeared at the Isle of Wight festival and were utterly brilliant.

  • five plus (!!so OTT)

  • and Love Story!

  • anybody got Christs Entry into Liverpool?

  • and I was there! Used to live on Catherine St, L'pool in them days...and go in O'Connors

  • Thanks, this was not on any of their lps,and i had all 3,even the old 3 man group on Epic!

  • "Bobby Lives!" Classic stuff. I guess I wasn´t one of the "record buying masses" - ´cos I thought they were quite appealing, if not necessarily ´exciting´. Maybe it was just my most impressionable period...............
