@ExquisiteDoom it would naive and plain stupid for Buffet to just give away money to the government, without the taxation rules changed. And it would not be much of a contribution either, compared to tax revenues from ALL the billionares if taxes are increased. Also it would not be sustainable with just one individual giving away his money. But Buffet IS giving away a lot of money to needed, isn't he? How about the Gates' foundation?
@shvedskiymalchik Buffet is full of shit. Lots of criticism on him to go around. Never take one source of info as valuable without it passing the test of debate first hand. He wants to tax the rich, says he should be taxed more but nothing prevents him to willingly give away his money if he wishes to be taxed more, yet doesn't do it. He may be an investment genius, but on political philosophy he is an intellectual midget.
@shvedskiymalchik But I think his speech is more about domestic issues as opposed to foreign issues. The housing crisis has little to do with the wars other than they are both the result of idiotic governmental policy.
The guy is obviously very smart and articulate, but very cold and cynical. He constantly refers to the general public healthcare system as the cause of the USA´s economic problems and argues that taxes for the richest should be lowered. But he doesn´t see the huge costs of the war in Irak, started on false pretenses. He doesn´t see that the tax breaks for the richest have only enriched them, without the expected effect. And he tries to sound like W. Buffet. Listen to Buffet instead.
