@S0u11ess I am actually quite literate. Sorry you have no grasp of the physical laws of our planet. If you take a "normal" skateboard and add batteries and a clutch system and, of course, the motor you failed to mention, those parts add mass to that skateboard. Mass adds weight here on Earth. I notice you didn't even address cost. Also, Slowchemical was calling the CONCEPT retarded, btw. You're welcome for clearing that up. I"m sorry you have a reading disorder. I"ll quote myself: "WHEN the batteries are so light". Battery technology is developing along with electric cars. Batteries are getting lighter and better. If you want a light weight electric board now you can get a metroboard with lithium ion batteries. Not weightless, but the technology IS getting there.

oh no? how bout when the batteries are so light it weighs the same as a normal board and can climb hills and you can still peddle it whenever you want to. such boards already exist today. They are lightweight electric skateboards with neutral gear to allow manual pushing when desired or when your charge is depleted. You sir are the retarded one. You just sound closed minded.
