Very much so. But she lives on through the wonderful singing registers she left to the planet. That's the way to transcend!.

@casch0101 Many thanks for your information, I ordered already.I am really knocked out by June Christy, she has a magic combination of qualities. Watching this leaves me smiling broadly with pleasure and a pleasant tingling sensation all over. She just makes me feel really good! How wholesome she is ... and I mean that as a great compliment. I'd like to climb into that clip, give her a hug and kiss and tell her how lovely she is! Sadly, she passed on in 1990 - she's singing for the angels now.

@gregwaits So would I! Are there any women still this natural and lovely? You're right, June was a real heart-stopper!

Totally!...You couldn't have put it better. i strongly recommend you to access Amazon and get her "Something Cool" recording. She recorded this album twice, same songs, same arrangements, slightly changed personnel. First it was in mono, and years later, in stereo when it came along. Both LPs are now comprised in one single CD. Superb orchestra with superb arrangements and conducted by great Pete Rugolo, one of Kenton's (and anyone's) best arrangers.

Great phrasing, beautiful voice, great ears ;-), faultless intonation, simply wonderful!. I agree with PENNSY671E. "One of the best female jazz vocalists ever ..."

She knows how to breath too. I think that is Roland Bundock on bass. Glenn miller's old Bassist.

LOVED HER SINCE 1955 THANKS

Oh what a wonderful husky voice! She's fantastic! Restrained power and clear enunciation. And I love the way she pronounces "go" , "blow" and "aglow". What a girl! What a discovery! Thanks for posting this!

If there ever was a moment to show us that Jazz of our times is dead!@! We are gonna have to Breath in the beauty of that age and make it our own in this time, cause there ain't no goin back.
I was fortunate enough to be at her outing with Kenton in 1945 and was, at once, her number one fan. Through all the good and bad years she remained terrific, tasteful and talented.

Perfectly swinging, fantastic voice, gorgeous woman, the loveliest smile. Simply: I fell in love with this kind of music and this most beautiful lovely woman. So bad, it's already long ago.
