@checkerz18 aahh mate i love these too ,, red with twin 40s ,, bodykit the works ,,i always wanted one of them ,, someone oppossitte where i used to work had one i used to dream about owning it lol !!!!
@TigerIPanzer Never had a camshaft go on one yet and one is at 286,000! Luton built cars certainly rusted more quickly, especially in late spec guise.
I grew up with both the mark 2 and 3, my father had a 1983 Mk2 and my mother later got a 1993 Mk3 in 1996, the Mk3 is still going strong and indeed once I can afford insurance on it (about £2000) it will be my car. As for the Mk2 it sadly died on us in 2003 after doing a whopping 176000 miles!! All I can say is that they are both fantastic cars.
Such great family cars. The Mk2 was miles better than the Sierra and out sold it for years. Tough call between the first mondeo and the mk3. I would prob still go for the mk3 over the early mondeo. But the Vectra was a let down. Bring back the cavs!! I would love to own a Mk2 just for pure nostalgia, such a great car for it's time.

I used to repair those cars back in the 90's...they were rot-boxes and the engine is prone to rapid camshaft wear = crap

my dad had a 2.0 injection, like the sri but with taller gearing and no bodykit.
we would get him to do 0-60 tests on way to banger racing, we got about 7-8 seconds with 4 people, it flew!
