A 2-day trip to the unspoiled Caribbean island of Vieques, Puerto Rico, for an evening kayak adventure to the bio-bay, and trips to Playa Negrita and Playa de la Chiva (Blue Beach).

Vieques, one of the two Spanish Virgin Islands (the other being Puerto Rico's Isla Culebra), is a special place of dozens of deserted white-sand beaches, one special black sand beach, 100s of horses roaming free and not one single corporate chain to speak of.

  • We did the bio bay two days ago and sure enough, it was amazing.

  • @FernandoCrescando Yes it was!! Wish my camera could catch it! (or wish I could figure out how to!!)

  • i love horses there so beautiful....

  • @noemirose Yes, it blew my mind to see them roaming freely. I also enjoyed watching the kids riding them around the island. Best one was at the ferry dock: A kid and horse went all the way out into the water until it was almost up to the horse's head. He then stood up and did a back flip into the water off his horse's back!

  • Fantastic video!!! We will have to try Vieques again. Our last trip didn't turn out to good.

  • @earlhoward

That is awesome! Will you be at Vieques, mainland Puerto rico or both? Can't wait to see your new videos!

  • @wumsley222 It was the first time I used a program to completely create the video and effects. Prior to this video (you can see them here), I used programs that selected the footage and effects automatically for me.

    Thanks again!

  • @wumsley222 Hey Wumsley -- you are so right, 9 days can't do it justice. We must have been there when you were last there in June 2009. We stayed at Hector's-by-the-Sea. We only had 2 1/2 days and that left me dreaming of my return

This year we opted for Culebra.

But in June/July 2011, we're going to Vieques for 5 nights. Still not enough time to explore and deeply as I'd like, but a good start.

THANKS 4 the comments on the video quality. I produced the video using iMovie for MAC.

  • @earlhoward hello, my wife and i love Vieques and make a trip every other year to that wonderful little island, even 9 days there can't do it justice. we'll be going back this summer. last time was in June of 2009 and we stayed at a place called "The Reef house" absolutely gorgeous there. Very pro video...may I ask who put it together?

  • @prohibida369 I loved it and can't wait to get back. This year we went to Culebra, but there's always next year.

    Muchas gracias!!

  • I'm very glad you enjoyed my lil'island of Vieques, Puerto Rico :):)

btw, LOVED the song you decided to put in the SlideShow, love it, love it :):):)

  • @kokuz0512 @kokuz0512 THANKS!!! I hear you about the Culebra tickets, it's busier each year I go back. If you are going for more than a day trip, the mid-day ferry is easier to get tickets for. Speaking of which, I'll be in PR and then Culebra in a few days!!!
