Good work! We have the same hair, but I can't play the bag pipes like that
-
Sorry, nothing to do with Creek Indians - written in memory of creeks and inlets along Moray coast by Portknockie, where the composer PM J Robertson, Gordon Highlanders came from. (he was a distant relation).
A favourite tune - have you tried playing it in a set with Boyndie HIlls, also by JR?
-
@macfearsons interesting... Did you know the tune was named Farewell to the Creeks as an honor and farewell to the Creek Indians
-
Well done....very sweet tune

i got a question... the high pitched canning reeds make your dronetube larger or shorter? should i prefer them for pipes that the regular reeds make the tube shorter?
-
Nice movements, and I like the sound of your drones! Have you used tried cane reeds? It might be worth a try, especially with a good set like that.
Thanks for helping me ID a tune I heard before but never knew the name to :D

I've never heard MacPherson pipes before as I get exposed to brands like Shepard, Nails, Sinclairs, Dunbars, Hardees and Robertson. In comparison to those MacPherson pipes sound good! Good job playing! Sounded great!

You have to play it with bellows, wich is a pretty hard technique and you have to play chords by opening valves with your wrists while playing.
They say it takes at least 7 years to learn to play it.
My father Hugh MacPherson passed at age 85 Dec 2009, Happened and found this vid. He was a stream/creek fisherman. I enjoyed this with a tear, most thanks.
