@Sointula2 funk is on the one, this is on the 2 and 4, kind of a propulsive funky, not in the pocket. nice drum breakdown though.

god you people have no idea of musical history. firstly the version of this on heart like a wheel that people are calling 'the original' is a cover. the original version was recorded in 1963 by dee dee warwick (sister of dionne). it was a hit in the same year for betty everett. secondly people who are bagging out the guitarist for not the solo not being as good as the recorded version, YOU FAIL. the guitarist is andrew gold, and he played the solo on the record too.

Well both words have many meanings but putting Funk in musical terms it can apply to many forms of music derived from black musicians. Funky could mean hip, groovy, far out, bad, tits. etc. I'd say combining the black musician's here with the hippy chick makes for a pretty funky funk style. :)

the guitarist is fine,,, it just isnt as good as the original. very simple. it doesnt really matter as long as linda was singing.
