  • That might be streamers you are seeing. A precursor to a lightning strike. If the ground doesn't connect with the leader from the cloud there is no lightning.

  • @Islesfan4eva Check out the video on my other channel, click the annotation in this video (red one)..

  • Elvis you a stupid fuck.filming non strike false title just to boost your hits.complete computer nerd ASSHOLE

  • @bereamikebassmaster Thank you for the kind words

  • This is a ghost image where an off-camera strike reflected on your lens. A strike that close would have been blinding and deafening.

  • it could be, i'm almost convinced now it may just be that. i have new footage from a recent storm that's more scary.

  • chances are thats just a step leader that started to form but never made a full connection and the discharge from the near by bolt ignighted it but since it never went from ground to cloud it never turned into a full bolt

  • When I lived in Florida I had a lightning bolt strike the sidewalk I in stride on just inches from my foot. Made my hair stand on end. Time moved slowly; I could reach and touch this thing!!!! That Quickly it was gone, It was a crack but not too loud at that point, just a couple of sparks on the sidewalk and a puff of sooty looking smoke that was gone in a couple of seconds, no rain until after that strike. Wow! Never want to be in that position again.

  • Looks like internal lens reflection to me. The main bolt being above out of the frame, reflecting off the internal lenses inside the lens. Very commonly mistaken for close bolts or step leaders. Good vid never the less.

  • thats not no dam reflection off no lens. That doesnt even make since! The little, faint bolt is called a step leader. Fortunately, the main bolt struck very close by, hints the instant and loud thunderclap. If the main bolt would have taken the path of this step leader you caught on video, you would have spotted an exploding tree amongst alotta of shit in your pants lol.

  • why were you outside during a lighting storm? o.o

  • That didn't connect, its a stepped leader as andyknight1 says. These go from the ground to the cloud, the one that gets there first drains the cloud of all its juice and becomes the lightning bolt proper. If these leaders don't connect they are harmless.
