In the Great Smoky Mountains there is an area (Elkmont) where the fireflies blink synchronously. It was like being inside a fairytale! So magical! Imagine what you see here times about 2 billion!
@bmxboys013 Not necessarily all at the same ti, but they would go black all the sudden and stop. then one would blink and they just twinkled. Even looked a little like a marquis or one of those flashing arrows (road sign) at times!
The really cool thing about the fireflies is they would stop blinking for a few seconds, then one would flash, and that was cue for all of them to start flashing! Watch the screen for one little flash, then about 50 - 60 little flashes, followed by blackness, and then flashing again! Possibly best viewed in the dark - depends on your personal settings. Keep in mind the light given off by fireflies is not the brightest. The camera couldn't pick up the fireflies more than a few feet away.
