I was going to say this is EXTREMELY ILLEGAL & Should not be done. But you are right about the SELLing of MetroCard Swipes. but then you said it's illegal to sell but to offer it for free is a totally different thing. Plus I've been "saved" by this happening when the turnstile just took 2$ of my mom's card and this dude just swiped her in.

how can u rip something off that has been ripping u off from the start? in nyc everyone who made over 30k a year had a personal income tax of 6.85% whether u made 31k a year or 1Million a year! the elite in manhattan are the ones who profit from being able to transport all the people into their borough to do everything around them.
