Best guitarist in the world in my eyes. No-one can beat him.

Brian always adds his own twist on songs, their never played the same way. Thats why I have so much respect for the guy, hes a genius!
-
@ronwoodh yes Pete is the one who took it there, was under close observation... quite suprised hes carrying it around in a gig bag but there you are.

@bluebellModelrailway Can't believe Brian let it be taken somewhere without him. His guitar technician gets very nervous when 'she' is given to him to change the strings; never mind being handled by some numpty who just happens to have lots of money to donate to charity.

@ronwoodh Nice, believe at a Red Special meet up last year it turned up and for a donation to charity you could play it. Sadly i could not attend.

@bluebellModelrailway Only time I was within 10 feet of it was in 1982

@ronwoodh Its wood it changes colour depending on the way the grain catches the light , Ive read the BMG website and the magazines, plus some of the images are taken with a flash which shows its orangey colour, in darker less brighter lights its a deep red, it changes depending on source and intensity, if you compare images, it always comes up different shades of red, orangey red, in real life with the human eye, its more of a light brown colour, i should know as ive seen it up close.

@bluebellModelrailway It shows a pic of the 'red special' on The Red Special Story in 'Brian May Guitars - the official site' after the restoration in 1998 in Roadies Cam, but on that pic it looks closer to the original colouration than it looks on here. ????Hmmmm

@ronwoodh Your going back as you say to 1992, The red special was restored in 96 / 98, the pickgaurd was repaired, and the patch of tap covering the hole for the fuzz box was repaired by inserting a Mother of pearl Star which has become a trademark of brians, the guitar was resprayed and binding repaired, as well as the fingerboard... info on this was in Guitarist mag, which i have some info on, on my website, redspecial-library.co.uk
Still the best, 40 years on.
