At 58 seconds those outboards come by , they sound crisp. I cant get over how good the sound is, usally most vids you here wind.

@carspectre well I was pretty close. I was on a pier and the boats were maybe 50 to 60 feet away. I'll be going back this year but I'll be taking a tripod and a HD camera with me this time.

awesome video, the sound is amazing, what type of camera did you use to record this and what edit hardware do you use to post this? txs boat fan

@carspectre the camera is a panasonic pv-gs300 which has 3 chips for color. the 3 chip cameras do a better job of reproducing color. I use sony Vegas software for editing video. I had just happened upon the boat races. I had my camera but no tripod so the video is a little choppy. The only problem with the event was that it was a very overcast day. the video would have been much better if the sun had come out.

where were you able to get so close to them? were you near mallory square?great vid by the way.

@tukacat I believe I was at fort taylor state park. regardless of the exact location I was right on the water. the boat races were a big deal with vendors out. the video would have been even better if it was a sunny day. It was cloudy all day and looked like it would rain.
