LNER A4 60019 Bittern (masquerading as 4492 Dominion of New Zealand) and GWR 5029 Nunney Castle on the return run from Plymouth to London. Nunney Castle was only on the Taunton -- Plymouth -- Taunton section. The video is taken on the lower part of Hemerdon Bank on the outskirts of Plymouth.
Nunney Castle cut back on the power just before reaching me, probably due to being too close behind a preceding service train.

  • Very nice film. Shame that Nunney shut off. A like from me. I filmed DNZ departing Euston earlier that day. Please take a look and comment. Barry

Thanks for watching. Yes it was a shame Nunney shut off just as she approached me, but plenty of noise before that.

  • lovely noise,a smart A4 hiding behindseemed overshadowed, great, cheers.

  • @noelist

Yes, the A4 seemed quite quire in comparison to Nunney. Thanks for viewing.

  • Now there's a sight not often seen Keith, a Castle and an A4....excellent capture....Bob

  • @robmasterman

Thanks Bob. Not sure if I like the mix of a castle and an A4. At least Nunney was making plenty of noise as usual. Keith

Yes Nunney did shut off as she approached me. It may have been a yellow signal ahead as a service train had gone up not long before. Thanks for your comments.

  • Good one, thank you, and I'm puzzled, seeing you're approx half way up the climb - was Nunney shut off after whistling? It sounded, and looked like it.

  • @nothingman1712
