This film is a donkeymentary. A documentary about a small island with 24,000 people, 6,000 donkeys, and just 2 cars.
Lamu, just off the coast of Kenya, is "the donkey capital of Africa." It is a place where there are donkey traffic jams, where the largest humanitarian organization is a donkey sanctuary, where donkeys are the key to earning a living, and where a young boy's fondest dream is to one day have a donkey of his own

We use to see little newborn donkeys every day for a while when we stayed in Lamu. I loved it!!!!!!

The doctors & staff at this Donkey Sanctuary do the most amazing work. I have seen so many donkeys mistreated around the world but in Lamu the animals look healthy & well cared for esp due to the fine work the sanctuary does. Some ppl of Lamu have also great compassion for these animals which was so nice to see. If you go there as a tourist please donate to this worthy cause (they have a donation box outside the sanctuary) which benefits both the animals & ppl. Bush be nice to the donkeys
