I have owned this album several times in many different formats since it was released and one of the main reasons is that I'm struck by how well this "English Gay Pop Rock singer has so well captured the heart and philosophy of the average Texan. I wonder what the conversations were like that inspired Sir Elton to do this song.

Right on. Elton John is my favorite artist, and I remember people giving me shit for it in high school. I was just like you guys wait, you'll learn to appreciate it. You should check out a song called Holiday Inn. It's on Madman Across the Water. It's my favorite song by him. It's a goodie :)
