Brothers Daryl and Kevin Maas, owners of Farm Power Northwest LLC, plan to use the manure from four neighboring dairy farms in Skagit County, Wash., to generate electricity in an anaerobic manure digester that they'll build and own near this manure lagoon on Gerritt Kuiper Jr's property. They say that this sort of model, which is geared for multiple small farms, allows smaller farms to get into the game and thereby helps keep family farms in business.

Oh Boy! You extracted electricity from manuer it's almost electricity already. You couldn't find a more organically rich material to extract methane from. Big Deal! Try getting electricity as you call it from plastic, rubber, styrofoam, paper or just plain MSW then you wil have accomplished something. Good luck!

Good work guys.... i like your idea and also your SMART way of recycling biorganic waste and materials to help the enviroment.... now imagine if this idea had of started 20 years ago... not only would energy essentially be free it would also be more productive and less destructive as well as a more refined source of energy and virtually limitless.
