Sponsor: http://NHLiberty.org - For the last year, practically every juror in the Keene, New Hampshire area has had the chance to learn about jury nullification. That's because activists from FIJA.org blanket the court entrance with operatives and flyers. FIJA = Fully Informed Jury Association. Jury Nullification = your right to ignore a judge's instructions and find the verdict according to your conscience. You can judge both the facts of the case, and the justness of the law and vote NOT GUILTY for any reason you see fit.

Not sure about that, I guess if that is the case I would not express my opinion as to why I say Not guilty.
I have always been of the opinion that beyond a shadow of a doubt means exactly that, no doubt that any other could have perpetrated the crime, so that may work.
Imo, it's wrong to pull a juror for their verdict no matter the reason...to gain the outcome the judge and prosecutor expect.
Thanks for letting me know expressing notions of JN while on a jury may get me replaced.

I cant imagine spending days in the same room with 11 other people very unhappy about being kept there and not able to articulate a reason to them.

My understanding is that you can get kicked off the jury and replaced with an alternate if you admit to nullifying. Please correct me if i am wrong.

FlailingJunk- If it were me I would vote not guilty if I felt the law was wrong, and only IF asked I would state to my fellow jurors that it is my right to vote not guilty and use jury nullification. I would also go further and probably tell the other jurors that they should educate themselves on the law and their rights. No need to debate any of the incident evidence, if you don't agree with the law. That's our right until they try to take it away.

No need to convince the rest of a jury.
All it takes is one not guilty vote and its over. You have a "hung jury" and a Mistrial is called.
A person should expect a very angry judge when this happens, but there's not much the judge can do about it.

I wonder what the best strategy is for dealing with your fellow jurors when nullifying. Assuming that it is 11 irritated people vs you and you cant admit your real reasons it could be a very stressful time.
It seems that most cases rely heavily on the testimony of police officers or bureaucrats and the evidence seems to be that those people lie on a regular basis to send people to jail. Would telling your fellow jurors that you believe the police/bureaucrats were lying be the best strategy?
