1, yes and no, many of the tools are used DIFFERENTLY and are easier to use
2, photo shop is faster than gimp, by a long shot, why, because you spending 600 allows them to pay to make better frame work
3, ur kidding me right, PS usis a Push Pull method of click and drag where gimp uses a copy past method, this causes unwanted shakiness, and is 1 reason its slower
4,FYI, i am a CG developer also, you dont know enough about the products
5,ps isnt ez to learn but if u do its worth it!

Photo Shop is WWWAAAYYYYYYYYY better than gimp, only someone who hasnt masterd it would say that. i have thoroughly mastered gimp and can say that its just harder, the framework is good, but is slower. in CS*, the framework can handle tens of thousands of pixels by the same and run like it would if you where making a 500x500 image because of the back end. gimp is great, and still my personal favorite, but photo shop is just simply better

There is NO WAY that Gimp is better or even comes close to photoshop.... period. And don't give me your BS drivel about Gimp is free. You can buy CS3 on Ebay seriously cheap and its still better than Gimp any day of the week.

I like this video so much, GIMP is indeed BETTER than Photoshop hands down why? lets see here...
1, GIMP has the same stuff as PS has.
2, GIMP is free compared to Photoshop that cost $600 - below to 200.
3, GIMP has alot more smoothness to its graphics compared to PS.
4, if your a graphic designer like i am, do NOT buy PS, DL GIMP FREE!.
5, GIMP is user friendly IMO & easy to learn the tools when one knows how to use tools.
sooo all in all GIMP wins which is no suprise here.

photoshop: for $600 bucks you get the same functionality as gimp PLUS you get unnecessary frustration. What a great deal.
