A man searches for himself, but is blocked by the space between the video's frames. Only in your mind's eye can he really find himself. Physically the two images of the man are never really together. In this modern day thaumatrope two stop motion films were interlaced frame-by-frame playing with the persistence of vision or the eyes' ability to preserve an image for roughly 1/20 of a second after the picture is removed. So the only time the man can really find himself is in our minds.

"Finding Himself In A Thaumatrope" A Stop Motion Film that deals with the science behind a spinning marvel made in the 1820's this object was a disk with two images on it, For example a brid on one side and a cage on the other, when you spun the disk the images became one (a bird in a cage) What I have done is shoot 2 stop motion films in the same location and interlace every picture by switching the two every frame while editting, As the length of the photos get shorter the eye blends the two together.
