  • Sufism is Islam. Its not 'similar' its like saying catholicism is similar to Christianity.

  • Wow! This was a great documentary! Thanks for enlightening us. Sufi Islam have renewed my hope in the possibility that Jews and Muslims can one day finally come together in peace. Shalom

  • @bnmanas Some people just focus on being negative and destructive and also, trying to show of a miserable amount of their culture. My friend, with that attitude i can't understand why you are interested in sufism. I thank the guy who made this beautiful documentary and i give a shit if he can speak or not properly cause any neurological problem.

  • Guys , I can't view this video due to a slow net :| I have my assembly in the next week and out topic is SUFISM and I'm supposed to insert a documentary on sufi , please HONESTLY tell me whether I can use this video or nott. Thankkkyouuu :)

  • @RabinoBoricuaVirtual actually if you read about Jews in the Ottoman reign you'll see muslims and jews actually lived together in peace for a very long time.

  • Oh my god ! Seriously, you didn't even get Mevlana's name right and you call this a documentary ? Mevlana's ethnic identity is a matter of dispute but there's no doubt that this sect of Islam has aTurkish background.

  • 2 Samuel 6:14 And David was dancing before the LORD. This says it all.

  • Islam is peace, some time some muslims are not

    A Sufi Shi'ite?

Then they're probably Zaydi Shi'ites, right? I can't possibly imagine a Sufi from the 12er sect of Shi'ism. They have completely contradictory standing points. Sufis base a lot of their teachings on narrations from the Sahabah (Abu bakr, specifically). 12ers HATE Abu Bakr. Zaydi Shi'ites (in Yemen) on the other hand are essentially just Sunnis who politically supported Ali)

Sufi'ism is as you said, applied to an existing ideology.

  • @HCEveningWalk

Sufis, the general practitioners, apply it to their Madthab. It's not a sect. Sufis still follow a Sunni-Islamic jurisdiction.

No Sufis (except maybe those in small, obscure orders in Turkey, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka- whom Muslims reject even as Muslims) pray to anyone but God.

  • One thing I wanna make clear to everyone: Islam strongly opposes the idea of praying to anyone and anything other than God. Islam's monotheistic belief is very important for all Muslims. So those who go invoking other objects and beings besides God, are committing the worst sin in Islam, which is known as Shirk (associating partners with God). That is why in Islam, if one wants to pray, he/she must pray to God directly, without any intermediary. God is One, he has no need of partners.
