  • I'm afraid don't have Chris's email, but why not try Snowshill and see if he is still there.

  • Great video! I didn't realize I was being filmed.

    Chris the Dowser

  • Hi Chris, well I was so close to you at the time, but I guess your mind was on other things.

I met members of Diss Rotary Club today who support a project to supply Africa with water and they use dowsing to locate the source of water and dig the wells by hand!

I'm glad you like the video.

  • Dowsing doesn't work, its just placebo and remembering the hits...

Every controlled trial of dowsing ever performed has shown that it is no better then pure guess work.

  • interesting, he seems to be aware of the idiomotor effect and yet he still believes.

  • Lol digging a hole will collect water from ROCKS lmao good one

  • @md4872 although we can't explain water witching so far, I kinda doubt that it will work with one.. When we finally figure out how it happens I bet there will be a simple physics explanation for two rods vs one rod. I used bent rods but maybe two straight rods would work? You'd probably need handles Of some sort at that angle though because of how the rods turn in your hand when you get a hit.. Let me know if you try it out, I'd be interested to know

  • @ YDDES never heard about that til now.. Guess I'll try to make a video and send it into those guys.. I don't know why or how it works, but it does and it's kinda cool. Maybe some people can do it and others can't. I never thought of it like that

  • Will it work with one rod?

Do the rod(s) have to be bent at a 90 degree angle?

  • The guy below me has no understanding of geology.

  • Drowsing does work because where ever you dig you must hit water somewhere in the ground. and if you didn't hit a large body of water you will create a well that well collect water from the nearby rocks

  • @thepoondragon you call that a simple explanation? What is this 'Universal Consciousness'? What are these frequencies? How do these frequencies interact with the rest of the universe? How can we measure them? If they have a measurable effect, i.e on the human body, we should be able to measure them.

Dowsing is a load of pish and has nothing to do with archaeology.

  • Dowsing does work! A simple explanation: When you dowse, you connect to the Universal Consciousness. The rod or pendulum is merely a tool. It is your mind and body tuning in to pick up frequencies of the the desired target and tuning in to it like a tuning fork. I can switch from finding underground streams, to finding gold to finding the nearest fox (when I'm out hunting), to looking for whatever I want!! You are only bound by your imagination. Dowsing works...

  • Comment continued: Later the same day I related my dowsing experience to scientists at Bell Labs in Whippany, NJ. They told me I must have imagined the experience for it was impossible. Back at the office one of the technicians told me he used dowsing to locate the pipes in his house when he does construction! So, the scientists categorize it as "witchcraft" while the office friend looked upon it as one would a hammer! To this day I have no explanation for my encounter with dowsing.

  • Serval years ago I had a client in Morristown, NJ. At lunch time the client took me out to front lawn where upon he snapped a v-shaped stick from a huge willow tree. After rolling up his sleeves he proceeded to walk over an area where he had discovered a stream. I observed his arms starting to shake and the stick pointed toward the underground stream path as he walked. Quite amazing. He then held my wrists while I held the stick and walked. The stick swung toward the ground full force! Amazing!
