Remember the fun and excitement of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids? Well, neither do I, but I bet it went a bit like this...

  • You've certainly captured the feel of the original cartoon. I reather fancied the blonde singer as a kid, but I was only ten at the time.

  • @bukster1 Thanks for the compliment! And I think you were right in sync with the times when you were 10 ;)

  • @avdis

Hanna Barbera made this tv show to capitalize on the teen pop groups of the era.

@wolphintv I made this spoof on the original Butch Cassidy by playing it completely straight.

  • OK, the scary thing is, I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be a parody or not.

  • you gotta love old H and B for imagining a product that can ride the razor's edge!

  • How could you leave out Mr. Socrates? And what kind of a three story high computer has allergies?

  • I remeber this flash cartoon used to be on the cartoon network website back in the early 2000's :)

  • Yes, I remember them. But, they didn't last that long - one season, maybe. The premise wasn't all that bad: a rock band doubling as secret agents. As I recall, there were a whole bunch of cartoons that premiered around the same time (Fall of '73) which are more or less completely forgotten today. "Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch" is one that comes to mind - "Inch High Private Eye" is another. Seeing this once again after nearly 40 years, I can't believe how bad the animation actually was!

  • Nice!

  • According to Wikipedia, the blonde Merilee was voiced by Judy Strangis. She's a brunette in real life, but she was in a show called "Electra woman and Dyna girl". She sure looks good in that Dyna Girl costume in the photos I've seen of the show. It's never screened here in New Zealand.

I wonder if she still has the costume?

  • Believe it or not, I remembered this and watched the show long before I knew of the Newman-Redford film. NBC had this show along with another Hanna-Barbara series Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch.
