Dakar is the capital city of Senegal, located on the Cape Verde Peninsula, on the country's Atlantic coast. It is Senegal's largest city. Its position, on the western edge of Africa (it is the westernmost African city), is an advantageous departure point for trans-Atlantic and European trade; this fact aided its growth into a major regional port.

According to December 31, 2005 official estimates, the city of Dakar proper has a population of 1,030,594, whereas the population of the Dakar metropolitan area is estimated at 2.45 million people.

Dakar is a major administrative centre, home to the National Assembly of Senegal and Senegal Presidential Palace.

  • This is the least interesting of all the Dakar videos.

  • That white man is an asshole. What the fuck is he doing in Africa for any way. And why would a cracker be interested in African things. Whites in Africa equals trouble. I dont trust whites. He probably a spy or something. I see no reason for whites hanging up in Black countries other than them stealing the wealth and colonizing the people. What else reason. None.

  • my mother used to say that there is only poor whites people who came to africa,He did not even have money to buy the artwork look at him lol.

  • @jarull90 You should feel ashamed that you sold your own people into slavery...no one was forcing you to capture and to sell them. Its time you take your responsibility.

Goree Island was NEVER a slave trading post, nor were there any slaves in the so called ''Maison des escraves" there is no record and nothing to substantiate that claim.

Goree was in invention to distract tourists from the Gambia.

And I'm an idiot? okay....you IMBECILE.

  • @jarull90 Nothing then has changed, it was The Africans themselves who attacked villages, captured their own people to sell them to the Europeans as slaves.

Goree is a farce and a tourist trap, I was never happier to leave such a place in my life.

  • @jarull90 Yeah and that is why there are so many of you in MY country ILLEGALLY and engaging in illegal activities

  • @jarull90 There are thieives all over including here yes, so in that case I don't to go to some SHIT COUNTRY to see more .

  • @jarull90 Well tell that to the Senegalese, if they are going to continue that shit then Europeans and Americans will stop going there and spending their money.

Not a good move for Senegal.

  • @jarull90 It was the people who live on Goree who act like gangsters and thieves.

IO discourage EVERYONE from visiting that cursed island, its a tourist trap, a farse and not worth it. Go elsewhere in Senegal or West Africa to learn more about the African slave trade.

  • Arrogance won't get you anywhere but Senegal is a most unfriendly place to tourists and they are trying to rip you off any which way you turn.

You always need to be on your guard and they will stalk you for blocks if you even as much look at something in the market for one tenth of second.

Goree Island is the WORSE tourist trap with a FALSE history.
