OK let me get this straight...the track on "Substance" is "Cries and Whispers" (incorrectly titled) and the version on "FactUS 8" is actually Mesh? This question has been bugging me for years -which is which?

I remember how socially shocking this was at the time and questions were asked in the House.
The men in grey macs didn't much care because they weren't exactly sure what a women was anyway.

Incorrect. The first one is Mesh, the second is Cries & Whispers.

Mesh and Cries and Whispers have been mislabeled since forever, this is Mesh. It's wrongly named on Substance album it's down as Mesh but is in fact Cries and Whispers. And Mesh is 3.03 long on the original Temptation/Procession/Everything's Gone Green 12". New Order always f#ck up track list/names, put wrong mixes. Murder was listed for the Substance cassette but not included I had to dub on my own copy

I know what you mean regards the track list regards this tune.
Back in the days i had this on the "Substance 1987" on cassette. Later bought the same album on CD only to find this track isnt on it. No wonder Factory fu*ked up ha ha !

This song IS mesh! Cries and whispers was wrongly named mesh on substance. I thought everyone knew that!
